![]() Metrognome : Is a Metronome (a tool to help with keeping the beat) with a Gnome bouncing on its stick The Mommy : Is a Mummy à la Ancient Egypt + Is a Mommy à la having kids pop out of her Mary : From the common nursery rhyme "Mary had a little ewe"Ĭhoral (Co-Op equivalent of Cadence) : Think "Chorus"Ĭoda : In music theory, a passage that brings a piece of music to an end (fitting!) Also a nocturne is a musical composition whose main theme is inspired by the night (thanks to u/duswatts!) Nocturna : As a vampire, she is nocturnal. Octavian : Name of Latin origin but it sounds similar to octave. Edit: Also a reference to Usain Bolt (thanks to u/Amacer!) The Dorian Mode is also the second of eight modes, and is built on two tetrachords, which might be why Dorian normally walks two spaces instead of the usual one.ĭove : Doves are a common symbol of pacifismīolt : Self explanatory. Quoting u/BlueKoin because I don't understand music The title of the DLC (AMPLIFIED) is also a pun with multiple levels! The DLC itself adds more content into the game (so it amplifies it) + "amp" is short for "ampère", which is the SI unit of electric current (the theme the new zone added by the DLC is electricity) + "amp" is also short for "amplifier" (a device that increases the strength of an electrical signal OR the volume of a voice or musical instrument) (thanks to u/anace!)Ĭadence : In music theory, a cadence is a combination of two chords that signals the end of a piece of music.Īria : A song accompanied by a solo voice (think opera singer).ĭorian : One of the Ancient Greek modes (a sort of scale). There is only a single candidate for the first pun on the list, and I think we all know what it is: Crypt of the NecroDancer : NecroDancer being a combination of Necromancer and Dancer.Ĭoming in at close second: Golden Lute : Sounds like Gold n' Loot (which is what Cadence originally thought her father had gone searching for) This is where you come in! Post in the comments any puns that I've missed, and I'll make sure to add it to the list (and also credit you)! Obviously, some puns must have gone over my head. ![]() Most of these are not puns per se, but I'll include them anyway In some cases, I speculated a bit, so a couple items on the list may be a bit far-fetched From the obvious and boring to the obscure and clever! In this reddit post I will try, with your help, to list ALL the puns the developers stuffed into the game. With the draft of the puns pretty much complete, it is time to tidy everything up and finally post it here! I combed the whole game, searching for even the tiniest clue for a pun and added it to my notes. When I arrived home yesterday, I checked if this sort of thing has been done before (as far as I know it hasn't) and I started cataloguing the puns on my phone, arranging them in distinct categories. The puns ended up being way more than I expected, and I then decided that if I was really gonna do this, I was gonna do it properly. ![]() To keep myself from being bored from the long trip, I then tried making a mental list of my favourite puns from the game, just for fun, which later ended up being a list of every pun I could possibly remember at the time. I was coming home from my 18-day visit to my grandma's home (listening to NecroDancer music, naturally) when I stumbled into the Deep Blues - Virt track (which I love!), and I remembered just how clever the pun for that Boss fight was and how much it fits into the game. This is going to be my attempt at collecting every single pun from the game into a single post I should have said Completely Comprehensive Compilation instead of Collection. Notorious D.I.G.Edit: Nooooo, I just realized I missed a huge opportunity for an even better alliteration in the title.(Fortissimole Remix) ( ft Adriana Figueroa ) NOTE: This DLC does *NOT* include the Crypt of the NecroDancer: AMPLIFIED soundtrack songs from A_Rival, FamilyJules7X, Virt, Girlfriend Records, or Danny Baranowsky. This is the remix soundtrack for Crypt of the NecroDancer: AMPLIFIED, created by Chipzel! It contains 26 tracks, covering all zones 1 through 5, in both MP3 and FLAC format!
